Timber the Labrador mix

About Timber

Hi my name is Timber. I am a Northern rescue who arrived full of quills! I underwent surgery to remove quills and got neutered at the same time. In the North we are known as community dogs. We go everywhere, do what we want and live outdoors. One fabulous Samaritan found me in poor state. I had been injured by the quills and had been in a bad state for quite some time. I couldn't eat. We silly dogs should keep our noses out of where they don't belong. I was then flown to Montreal where the quills were removed under anesthetic the next day. I was also put on pain killers and antibiotics. I am learning to live in a house and am enjoying indoor living now. I am fine with other dogs although I am a pretty big dog so it would better that I not live with a small dog. As per all my caregivers, I am an absolute sweetheart! I am still swollen but I will be back to normal soon. I would enjoy going to obedience school as I want to please. I still have quills coming out. I am very calm to have them removed. Only the right match will be contacted. No e-mails or Facebook private messages for this dog will be answered. Pls fill out an adoption questionnaire found on our website. (Before and after photos)

This organization is run entirely by volunteers and we try our best to save as many homeless dogs as possible. Since there are only a few volunteers, please understand that we are unable to answer phone calls about the animals. The first step is to fill out an adoption application which you can find at: www.rosieanimaladoption.org . You will be contacted only if you are a suitable match. Rosie Animal Adoption does not have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved, or at adoption clinics. If you have any questions, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). All family members must be present at time of adoption. Please note, we do not adopt strays to families with children under 12.

Adoptions

If you adopt from Rosie, your dog will be vet checked, vaccinated for DHPP and Rabies (if the dog is over 4 months), given a treatment for fleas and parasites as well as spayed or neutered before adoption. Our adoption fee is $400 and $300 for dogs of 8 years old and older.

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
