Shane the Lab mix

About Shane

Shane and his brothers and sisters arrived from the North 2 weeks ago. Their Mom has now been spayed!! These pups are like all other pups: They need to be well loved!❤️
They need to be well socialized with vaccinated and well balanced dogs. They need to be let out often to become housebroken. You will need to roll up your carpets! They need someone home during the day or at least partly during the day. They need to learn to sleep in a cage by themselves. They need to learn to play with doggie toys. They need to eat good quality food to keep healthy. They need to go to positive puppy obedience classes etc.. to learn to become good citizens.
It’s a big responsibility to adopt a dog!! These puppies will be spayed at 5 months. A spay deposit will be needed.
Only the right match will be contacted!

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen. Pablo need help

Hi my name is Pablo! I’m an 11 month old male neutered chihuahua. At 7 months old I was dropped off at the SPCA because my blood tests showed that something might be wrong with my liver. My liver values were not normal.

The SPCA called Rosie’s Animal Adoption to ask if they would take me in and of course they said yes. I went to a new foster home where I got to play with lots of dogs. I’ve been through a lot in the last 2 months trying to figure out what was wrong with my liver. I had many blood tests, a liver biopsy and the doctors thought I might have a shunt. My liver were not normal. That is a condition which would require a very invasive surgery. So off to the specialist I went. I met Dr Javard, Internal Specialist at DMV.

There I had a cat scan, a very expensive test I’ve been told, to find out if I did have a shunt. The good news is I did not and the specialist cleared me and said I would lead a normal, healthy, long life. The only conditon is that I eat vegetarian food (Hydrolyzed dog Food) and a blood test once a year. You know I dont eat a lot - I am so tiny! The cat Scan indicated I have: Portal Vein Hypoplasia or Microvascular dysplasia.

Now I’m looking for my forever family. I love to play with other dogs, big or small. The dog’s I play with need to be very stable and not react to my antics. I am very brave, sometimes too brave, so a sensitive or reactive dog may not like having me around. I can go 100 miles an hour or I can curl up and lie on your lap for hours. My foster mom says I only have two modes on or off. She also says I’m much better but still not 100% toilet trained. I am crate trained but I will bark if I need to go out to do my business. Ideally, I would have a fenced yard to play in because I am fast and small, and you may not even notice I’m gone if I’m not in a fenced area. I like older kids as long as they are very gentle with me and respect when I do not want to play with them.

Rosie has spent over $3,000. On trying to find out what was wrong with me. Pls help Rosie pay my vet bills! I am so worth saving!
