Millie the Husky-small breed mix

About Millie

Millie is a Northern dog who arrived with Rosie with severe Demodex. She is presently being treated but is vaccinated. Millie is an active funny little dog. She is fine with other dogs. Would not put her with cats. She is fine with woman and loves to be on your lap. She does have a fear of men. It seems to be worse at night. We are trying to work on this fear. It is very difficult to work with fears when we do not know her history. Rosie has contacted a trainer and will see a behaviorist with her. Millie cannot be spayed yet because of her non-contagious skin disorder. We are looking for a foster to adopt for Milllie. Her medical care will be covered until she is spayed then we will sign the adoption contract and she will be yours. Before applying for her, Please remember that she is petrified of men at night. Only the right "Match" will be contacted.

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
