Kally the Cocker-poodle-x
About Kally
my name is Kally and I am Cocapoo.. I just turned 7 and now I look forward to the rest of my days of love and a cozy home to call my own.
Because the first years of my life were so different that the experience of a normal family dog, I would benefit from a quiet home with another dog who is well adjusted. I have learned quite a bit about being a normal dog already from my foster family’s dogs, and what is best for me is to continue learning the world of dog. I am skittish, due to my limited life experiences, so if your own dog is nervous, that is not my ideal match as I will remain skittish myself. What I need is a confident dog who will tolerate and welcome me and teach me by observing them.
I show such signs of promise. I am still wary but I love affection and kind words. I wag and even lift my lips to smile and approach my foster family happily when they are still or seated but can sometimes run away and be frightened if they are up and moving around, but this gets better every day. I wouldn’t even take walks when I first arrived because I didn’t understand that this is a good thing, but I am at ease with it largely now and walk alongside my foster family and slowly my tail is starting to come up as I sniff the breeze and look around. I just need more good experiences with it, to truly appreciate why the other dogs in the family go crazy-happy when the leashes come out!
My toilet training is coming along well, considering I never had to use that skill for 7 years. I still have the occasional accident but am happy to go out in the yard with the gang and do my thing. My foster mom knows that if I get up and leave her, that I need to go out, even if I don’t say so directly.
As you can see, my big brown eyes and beautiful face speak volumes of the hopes I have for my future. I am looking for my family now, if you have the kind of home that will allow me to live my best life, maybe you are looking for me, too.

Surrenders
Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.
We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
