About Jaycee
This is Jaycee, a 3-year-old female Beagle. As with all Beagles, she is free spirited and independent when outside, she just wants to follow her nose and would love to stay out all day. When inside the house, she loves to cuddle next to people and is very affectionate.
Jaycee knows commands such as sit, stay, give paw, as well as has great balance. If you pay attention to her asking for the door, she will remain clean in the house.
The ideal family for Jaycee would be someone who has experience with Beagles or knows the breed very well, who loves the outdoors and is home for a large portion of the day. Jaycee gets anxious when left alone in the home, and needs to be put in a crate. She is good with other dogs and cats (and pulls to be introduced when on the street). She is gentle with children, but being a stray, should not go to a family with young children.
Grooming Beagles is fairly easy, but they do shed, and therefore require brushing a few times a week. Their cute long ears require regular cleaning in order to avoid infections, and they need plenty of exercise and stimulation in the form of games to activate their scent.
If you have a love for Beagles, Jaycee will not disappoint, please fill out an adoption form.

Surrenders
Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.
We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
