Freckles and Nicki the Dachshund

About Freckles and Nicki

We're Nicki and Freckles. We used to be "breeding dogs", but guess what? We're retired now and starting a whole new chapter of life! 🐾
We’re still getting the hang of living in a home. There are so many new noises... like that timer ⏲️ that goes off for no reason and the doorbell that scares us every time! Seriously, who keeps ringing it? These foster humans need to stop with ordering packages! 📦 😉
Oh, and that white stuff that falls from the sky? Not a fan. ❄️
A little about us!
Freckles is a big girl at 20 lbs, but she's on a diet now (she's working on it)! She’s recently discovered squeaky toys and bully sticks—who knew life could be so fun?
Nicki is a petite 11lbs, and she’s still figuring out the magic of toys, but she LOVES chewing on a bully stick, especially when she's right next to her best friend.
We’re not fully house trained yet, but we’re making progress! We have access to pee pads and we use them (we're learning!). At night, we're calm and cozy, we sleep together. We're absolute sweethearts – we just need someone to give us a chance!
The best part? We’re inseparable! These two besties stick together like peanut butter and jelly, and Rosie would love to find a home where we can stay together forever. S

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
