Chita the Golden doodle

About Chita
Chita is a sweet and gentle Golden Doodle who is slightly wary of humans but extremely friendly with other dogs. Chita is completely house broken and is crate trained. She spends her nights in the crate and also goes to her crate by choice during the day, just to hang out. We have gone out and left Chita uncrated, and she has been fine, and not damaged anything.
Chita walks well on her harness. She seems completely oblivious to squirrels, etc. and has never demonstrated any prey drive, nor is she much of a barker. Chita is very dog friendly and happy to greet any dog she encounters. Chita loves to run in the yard, and she is a very good runner, so could easily be hiking partner. She also loves to chase a ball and has a future as a retriever (once she masters the retrieve part!).
Chita needs a family that will be patient with her and allow her to adapt to her new home at her own pace. Although Chita is unsure about new sights and sounds, and in new situations, she is nonetheless very gentle, and allows herself to be guided by her human.
Chita wants to trust and has the potential to completely overcome her shyness with an understanding family. Patience and understanding on the part of an adoptive family will be amply rewarded with a dog that is young enough to actively participate in any activities her family may choose, but mature enough to be past the more demanding aspects of puppyhood.
Chita is a good natured and extremely low maintenance dog. She is starting to play with toys and to initiate play with our dog. We are seeing the glimmers of the happy, goofy girl she could become. With a bit of patience, some socialization, and perhaps a canine friend, she will overcome her shyness and blossom into be a loyal companion.

Surrenders
Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.
We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
