Billy the yorkie mix

About Billy

Big thank you goes out to Rose at: www.refugerr.org for rescuing Billy and transferring him to Rosie even though it is not their mission to rescue dogs!

Billy has to come to Rosie as a little shy dog. He is slowly coming out of his shell. He plays well with his foster's dogs and cat. He is all around good boy. Billy is learning to be housebroken and doing well. Billy cannot be left alone in a cage a whole day. He needs to be let out often during the day. Even if Billy is a small breed he would need obedience classes to keep him social with other dogs and can learn with you. Billy is very tiny so we will not put him with small children. He can make himself heard so no apartments or condos please. Adopting is a big decision. Billy could be around up to 12 years or more. Are you ready for this commitment? We only have 1 Billy so we can only choose 1 family. If you don't get to adopt him, it doesn't mean you are refused. Pls fill out an application to adopt Billy. Please read what he needs before applying for him.

This organization is run entirely by volunteers and we try our best to save as many homeless dogs as possible. Since there are only a few volunteers, please understand that we are unable to answer phone calls about the animals. The first step is to fill out an adoption application which you can find at: www.rosieanimaladoption.org . You will be contacted only if you are a suitable match. Rosie Animal Adoption does not have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved, or at adoption clinics. If you have any questions, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). All family members must be present at time of adoption. Please note, we do not adopt strays to families with children under 12.

Adoptions

If you adopt from Rosie, your dog will be vet checked, vaccinated for DHPP and Rabies (if the dog is over 4 months), given a treatment for fleas and parasites as well as spayed or neutered before adoption. Our adoption fee is $400 and $300 for dogs of 8 years old and older.

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
