Bella the Border collie mix

About Bella

Meet Bella a Border collie mix.

We don’t know much about her past as ahe was found as a stray and never claimed.
But what we do know is that she is a human lover, very friendly and likes the presence of people. She will love her human family to bits and she will easily go to visitors and strangers! She is very affectionate and loves pats and cuddles. She has an extremely warm personality.

Because she is more-border collie, her energy level is extremely high. She would be a perfect candidate for a family who is extremely active to help her expel her energy daily. Maybe a good agility dog!

She will need a family that will provide her with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Her energy level is not to be taken lightly!

Bella has shown great interest in other dogs. She loves going to the dog park and playing with all her friends. It is the highlight of her day. She also loves her foster brothers and sisters. She would make a great second dog as she adapts well.

She will need allot of training as she jumps on people and she is not good at all on leash. She does know the commands sit and lay down in French. Obedience school would be a great asset for her. She is very good in a vehicle. In fact, you don’t even know she is there until you arrive at your destination and open a door for her. She will try and jump out and doesn’t take no for an answer. So attaching her would be a good idea.

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen. Hit by a car at 8 weeks old

How could this happen? An 8 week old pup being hit by a car. This sadly happens often when dogs are allowed loose. Little Hunter arrived by plane Wednesday night and went straight to DMV, Lachine. We didn’t know how bad his injuries were. As soon as he arrived he was examined by a emergency Veterinarian. His digits were crushed and his arm was already badly infected. Bacteria had already set in and his little arm was extremely swollen. After being examined by Dr Gatineau, we were told that the digits could not be repaired and his arm needed to be amputated to save his life from the bacterial Infection. Yesterday little Hunter became 3 legged pup. Not the best for a dog but he is alive. He has been in ICU and being treated diligently with antibiotics. Now he learns to walk on 3 legs but his expenses are very highly! This was a very difficult surgery because of the infection. We now again faced with a very high bill of over $3,500. Hunter is still at DMV! Today August 25 he is hanging on and a lot more comfortable. Pls consider donating to help us with littl Hunter’s medical bills.
